About the role

We are seeking a Teaching Assistant/Native English Kindergarten Teacher to join our team at our Yau Tsim Mong District location. This is a full-time position that offers a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young children's lives whilst working within a dynamic and supportive educational setting. As a native English speaker, you will play a vital role in supporting our kindergarten classroom and helping to deliver high-quality English language education and early childhood development activities to our students.

Key responsibilities

1. Supporting the lead teacher in planning and delivering engaging English language lessons and early childhood education activities

2. Assisting with classroom management, ensuring a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment for all children

3. Providing one-on-one or small group support to children, particularly those requiring additional assistance with English language development

4. Helping to create and maintain classroom resources, displays and materials that enhance the learning environment

5. Supporting children with daily routines, self-care activities and transitions between different activities

6. Observing and documenting children's learning progress and development, and communicating observations to the lead teacher

7. Fostering positive relationships with children, families and colleagues

8. Assisting with special events, excursions and classroom celebrations

9. Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety and hygiene within the classroom

10. Collaborating with the teaching team to support curriculum implementation and child-centred learning approaches

What we're looking for

1. Native English speaker with excellent verbal and written communication skills

2. Qualification in Early Childhood Education or a related field (such as a certificate or diploma in childcare, or completion of a teacher training programme)

3. Experience working with young children in an early childhood or kindergarten setting, or relevant practical experience demonstrating your ability to work effectively with this age group

4. A genuine passion for early childhood development and a commitment to supporting each child's individual learning journey

5. Strong patience, creativity and excellent interpersonal skills

6. The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team whilst also taking initiative when needed

7. A good understanding of child safeguarding and duty of care responsibilities

8. Flexibility, adaptability and a positive attitude towards professional development

9. Valid documentation and clearance to work with children (or willingness to obtain this)
