(Deputy) Custody Manager, Middle Office

Responsibilities:

  • Join a middle office team in a global custody business, providing guidance on trade and FX matching workflows, issue resolutions and client servicing.
  • Manage the trade matching process to ensure trades executed by the clients (or their brokers) are accurately confirmed and matched with counterparties.
  • Oversee the use of trade matching platforms to reconcile trade details, including quantity, price and settlement instructions.
  • Ensure timely resolution of trade mismatches by working with counterparties, brokers and clients etc.
  • Manage FX trade matching for currency transactions linked to securities trades or FX deals, ensuring accurate pairing of FX instructions.
  • Ensure FX trades align with client instructions, including currencies, amounts and value dates etc. Address discrepancies promptly.
  • Ensure that all services delivered consider current legislative and regulatory requirement and must comply with the Bank’s operation risk guidelines.
  • Night shifts and holiday support are required.

Requirements:

  • 3 - 5 years of experience with custody or fund administration business.
  • Familiar with using trade and FX matching systems, such as CTM and CLS etc.
  • Overall understanding and knowledge about various markets and investment instruments (like equities and fixed incomes etc.) as well as their related operating modes, clearing and settlement procedures, law and regulations, commonly-used SWIFT formats etc.
  • Familiar with different markets and operating requirements etc.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and co-ordination skills to work with the team.
  • Independent in thinking, arrange work and dealing with business partners or service providers; flexible and client focus in rendering client-fronting services.
  • Meticulous with details; diligent and efficient in follow-through.
  • Able to work effectively under pressure arisen from workload and time constraints.
  • Sensitive about international market developments and industry initiatives.
