Bemis Hong Kong Limited
Manager – Global Supply Planning

The Manager - Global Supply Planning is responsible for end-to-end supply chain performance with a primary focus on inventory reduction, lead time compression, and structural cost improvement across Bemis’ global network.

This role will create visibility, orchestrate cross-functional actions, and translate data into execution, enabling faster decisions and improved cash, service, and margin outcomes.

This is a hands-on leadership role—not just planning design—owning outcomes and driving change across regions, sites, suppliers, and functions.

Core Responsibilities

1. Inventory Management & Reduction (Primary Accountability)

•Own global inventory health and performance across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods

•Define and maintain inventory entitlement models by product, customer, and site

•Lead excess & obsolete (E&O) reduction with clear action owners and aging controls

•Drive structural fixes (MOQs, lead times, planning parameters), not just clean-ups

•Partner with Finance to align inventory actions with cash, margin, and working capital goals

2. Supply Chain Visibility & Orchestration

•Establish end-to-end visibility from demand signal → supply → execution

•Design and maintain clear dashboards for:

oInventory health

oLead times

oService reliability

oConstraint & risk signals

•Orchestrate actions across Planning, Sourcing, Operations, Logistics, and Commercial

•Ensure decisions are data-driven, timely, and transparent

3. Lead Time Reduction & Flow Improvement

•Map and challenge current end-to-end lead times (supplier, internal, customer-facing)

•Identify and eliminate root causes of long or variable lead times

•Collaborate with Sourcing and Suppliers to reduce supplier lead times and variability

•Drive internal flow improvement (batch sizes, sequencing, planning cycles)

4. End-to-End Supply Chain Cost Reduction

•Lead cost reduction initiatives across:

oMaterials and sourcing strategies (in partnership with Global Sourcing)

oInventory holding and obsolescence costs

oFreight, expediting, and premium logistics

•Quantify trade-offs clearly (service vs. cost vs. inventory)

•Build business cases and track value realization

5. Governance, Cadence & Continuous Improvement

•Own a regular global supply chain cadence (weekly / monthly reviews)

•Standardize KPIs, definitions, and accountability across regions

•Identify systemic issues and translate them into prioritized improvement initiatives

•Act as a thought partner to Global Ops & Supply Chain leadership on roadmap and priorities

Required Experience & Capabilities Experience

•8–12+ years in global supply chain, planning, or operations

•Proven track record delivering inventory reduction and lead time improvement

•Experience working in complex, multi-site, global manufacturing environments (chemical / paper manufacturing is a plus)

•Strong cross-functional leadership without direct authority
Core Capabilities

•Deep understanding of inventory mechanics (entitlements, buffers, MOQs, lead times)

•Strong analytical skills; able to turn data into decisions and actions

•Able to orchestrate execution, not just design processes

•Comfortable challenging legacy practices with facts and clarity

•Strong communication skills across senior leadership and plant-level teams

•English and Chinese proficiency is required.
Tools & Systems (Preferred)

•Experience with ERP-based planning environments (e.g., D365 or similar)

•Familiarity with IBP / S&OP concepts (Oliver Wight or equivalent a plus)

•Strong Excel / analytics capability; dashboard and KPI design experience

Reporting & Scope

•Reports into: Global Operations & Supply Chain Leadership

•Global scope across regions, plants, and supply base

•High visibility role with direct impact on cash, service, and margin
