Operations Director (OEM – Garment Manufacturing)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned Operations Director (OEM) to lead and optimize end‑to‑end operations across our apparel and garment manufacturing businesses. Reporting to the CEO, this role combines operational excellence , driving manufacturing excellence, strengthening cost and delivery performance, and ensuring seamless alignment across production, supply chain, and supporting functions.

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on, commercially minded operations leader with extensive experience in OEM manufacturing environments, capable of managing complex, multi‑site operations while continuously improving efficiency, quality, and compliance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Planning & Operational Leadership

·       Develop & execute operational strategies and annual operating plans aligned with overall business objectives.

·       Translate corporate strategy into manufacturing and operational targets, including capacity planning, productivity, cost, and delivery performance.

·       Monitor execution of strategic and operational initiatives, identify risks, and implement corrective actions as required.

·       Provide regular performance updates and operational insights to the CEO and senior management.


2. Manufacturing & OEM Operations Management

·       Oversee end‑to‑end OEM manufacturing operations, including production planning, factory operations, quality control, and delivery performance.

·       Ensure effective coordination across production, sourcing, supply chain, and technical teams to meet customer requirements.

·       Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, on‑time delivery, and cost competitiveness.

·       Ensure adherence to customer standards, compliance requirements, and ethical manufacturing practices.



3. Financial & Performance Management

·       Manage operational budgets, cost control, and performance tracking for manufacturing operations.

·       Partner closely with Finance to support budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and profitability improvement initiatives.

·       Analyze operational and financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

·       Drive accountability through clear KPIs and performance management frameworks.


4. Operational Excellence & Process Improvement

·       Lead operational excellence initiatives, including lean manufacturing, capacity optimization, and process standardization.

·       Oversee special projects related to productivity improvement, factory upgrades, new program onboarding, or operational restructuring.

·       Monitor industry trends and best practices in OEM manufacturing to support innovation and competitiveness.


5. Cross‑Functional, Customer & Stakeholder Management

·       Collaborate with commercial, merchandising, technical, and quality teams to support customer programs and growth initiatives.

·       Support customer audits, operational reviews, and major supplier engagements.

·       Build and lead high‑performing operational teams with a strong culture of accountability and collaboration.

·       Strengthen customer relationships by partnering closely with key customers to understand requirements, align operational delivery, and support business growth opportunities.

·       Work with the sales and commercial teams to ensure operational capabilities are aligned with customer expectations, fostering long-term partnerships and repeat business.

 

Job Requirements:

·       Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related discipline; postgraduate degree or professional qualification is an advantage.

·       15+ years of progressive experience in OEM apparel / garment manufacturing, with senior operational leadership exposure.

·       Proven track record in managing factory operations, improving productivity, cost control, and delivery performance.

·       Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to interpret operational and financial data effectively.

·       Experience leading operational transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.

·       Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

·       High proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, with experience in ERP / manufacturing systems is an advantage.

·       Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with discretion in handling sensitive information.
