Duties
The appointee is expected to:
1. Manage content growth organically from concept to finished product;
2. Oversee the production and distribution of the Press’s content and publishing, ensuring they meet quality standards and deadlines;
3. Facilitate clear and effective communication with authors and stakeholders, and participate in the book acquisition process;
4. Be market-aware, with the ability to assess opportunity and make strategic decision to meet the Press’s branding and marketing goals;
5. Promote efficiency and best practices for the Press; and
6. Perform any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Language/Translation/Literature/Communication/Business or related disciplines, with at least 5 years related work experience;
2. An excellent communicator and collaborator, with a genuine passion to build relationships with authors, scholars, staff, and external partners;
3. Demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically to solve problems, great at multi-tasking with excellent project management skills;
4. Responsive communication skills and high proficiency in written and spoken English are required;
5. Substantial experience in journalism, communication or publishing-related profession; with a keen understanding of the print and digital market would be an added advantage.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.
Salary and Conditions of Service
Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
