Application Support Analyst (SQL, C++, Linux, over $35K)

Job Description:

  • Perform daily system administration tasks and maintain systems user profiles
  • Provide technical and operational supports to users of systems and other departmental application systems
  • Prepare and update operation and system manuals, and conduct training for users
  • Develop SQL scripts for ad-hoc report generation and data extraction
  • Assist in system maintenance, performance monitoring and fine tuning of the system
  • Work with ICT staff, contractors and users on the development of system, including assisting in system design, testing and perform user acceptance test, and preparation of technical specifications and tender documents;
  • Provide on-call technical support duties and perform overtime work

Requirements:

  • Higher Diploma / Degree in Computer Science
  • At least 4 years working experience with 3 years relevant working experience in application development projects
  • At least 3 years working experience in SQL database management (e.g. MySQL, MSSQL) and SQL script development;
  • At least 2 years experience in C++, web programming (e.g. HTML5, JavaScript)
  • At least 2 years experience in Linux administration
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, with ability to conduct root-cause analysis and propose effective fixes;
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with business users and technical teams;
  • Good written English and Chinese
