Project Manager (PRINCE, Gov't Project, over $70K)

Job Description:

  • Responsible for the overall project management for application system implementation
  • Lead a team of IT officers to provide system maintenance and support for various IT application systems, provide support to the study of Departmental Information Technology Plan and IT-related audits, and conduct IT-related tasks including but not limited to feasibility study, design, application and/or system programming, testing, system acceptance, data conversion, training, capacity planning, technical support, disaster recovery drill and quality assurance
  • Liaise with parties concerned (including users, vendors, computer operators) for requirement study, implementation and on-going activities support
  • Perform vendor management
  • Manage outsourcing services including quality assurance of deliverables and service acceptance
  • Reviewing the technical architecture proposed by vendors and conducting technical study on new technologies
  • Participate in procurement processes of IT systems, products and services
  • Providing technical advice to management, user or community as appropriate
  • Perform evaluation and research of new hardware, software and technologies

Requirement Details:

 

  • Diploma holder or above, majoring in Information Technology/Systems, Computer Science, Information Engineering or related disciplines, or equivalent
  • At least 8 years' work experience in IT industry, while at least 4 years' work experience serving in the role as project manager
  • Experience in project management for implementation of Government application system development projects
  • Experience in supervising five IT officers or more for providing system maintenance and support for IT application systems
  • Strong analytical, risk management, problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills in both Chinese (essentially Cantonese) and English
