Reporting to the Engineers of the Process Control team, the appointee will be responsible for software & data maintenance, as well as implementation of control computer systems in the System Control Centre and the Backup System Control Centre to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations of the power systems. Major duties include:
Major accountabilities:
- Perform daily operation of the control computer systems to ensure reliable and high availability services are provided for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the power network
- Perform the implementation and maintenance of the power system network models, real-time and historical database among the control computer systems
- Support Windows & Linux Server environment and network infrastructure setup, management and monitoring, which includes but not limited to Active Directory service, Database, Virtual server, Backup, etc.
- Follow proper software engineering practices for the maintenance of the control computer systems, including preparation of system change records, implementation and testing of bug fixes.
Requirements:
- Higher Certificate / Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Professional Diploma in Power Engineering or equivalent plus 2 years’ relevant experience OR
Ordinary Certificate / Ordinary Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Diploma in Power Engineering or equivalent plus 4 years’ relevant experience, preferably associated with Regions’ engineering work
- Good knowledge of basic power system operations is preferable
- Familiarity with CLP Power Safety Rules, Supply Rules or CLP’s supply systems is a plus
- Hand-on skills in computer-aided design software like AutoCAD, FreeCAD, MS Visio etc.
- High ability to use PC applications, e.g. MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Mindful and possess good safety awareness and track record
- Self-initiative and able to work under pressure
- Tactful with good communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese
Candidates with less qualification and/or experience but demonstrate good potential for further development will be considered for a position at lower grade.
