Senior Executive Assistant
Job Description
Successful candidates will be deployed to sections/offices in the Works Branch of the Development Bureau to undertake the following duties (Note 3 and 4) – (a) to provide support in a wide range of executive functions including scheme administration, event management, organisation of conferences, publicity management, human resource management, general administrative support, support to boards and councils, executive and policy support, regulatory functions and complaints management, financial resources management and system/project planning and development; and (b) to perform any other duties assigned as appropriate.
Requirements
Applicants should – (a) have a bachelor’s degree from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent; majoring in business administration, marketing, public relations, social science, communication or journalism is an advantage; (b) have at least four years’ post-qualification work experience in (i) administrative responsibilities / (ii) scheme administration / (iii) publicity management. Work experience in government bureaux/departments or sizable non-governmental organisations/public bodies, or in managing large-scale promotional events or forums is an advantage (Note 1); (c) have met the language proficiency requirements of “Level 3” (Note 2) or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent; (d) have a good command of oral and written English and Chinese, including Putonghua; (e) have strong communication and interpersonal skills; and (f) have proficiency in computer use, in particular Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint and Chinese word processing; knowledge of using Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat Pro, Microsoft Window Movie-maker and other graphic design software is an advantage. Note: (1) Applicants should state under the “Nature of Work” section in G.F. 340 whether each of their post-qualification employment involves work experience in (i) administrative responsibilities / (ii) scheme administration / (iii) publicity management. (2) For non-civil service appointment purpose, “Grade C” in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to “Level 3” in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth. (3) Successful candidates may be required to work irregular hours and on public holidays. (4) Successful candidates may be required to perform outdoor duties.
Terms of Appointment: Successful candidates will be employed on non-civil service contract terms for a period of around one year. Renewal of contract will be subject to the service need of the Works Branch of the Development Bureau and the candidate’s performance.
Remuneration
HK$35,990 per month
Fringe Benefits A gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the full contract period with consistently high standard of performance. The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Government’s contribution to the Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) Scheme as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, equals to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. The benefits in respect of rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), annual leave, maternity/paternity leave and sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance and confirmed at the time of the offer of appointment.
