Part-time School Support Officer [School-based Curriculum Development (Secondary)] (EDB/QASBS/192/19)-(Non-Civil)
Job Description
(a) To formulate and render on-site school-based professional support service to secondary schools in respect of school-based curriculum development in Liberal Studies and Personal, Social and Humanities Education (PSHE) and in the light of curriculum initiatives such as e-learning, self-directed learning, and catering for learner diversity as and when appropriate;
(b) To assist in organising learning communities in respect of (a), tasked to engender cross-schools collegial sharing and professional exchanges;
(c) To assist in organising territory-wide sharing sessions for disseminating effective practices; and
(d) To conceptualise effective practices on support service in respect of (a) for knowledge generation, such as tasks of writing reports, analysis on yearend evaluation report, cases of school-based curriculum development and reflections on support services.

Requirements
(a) A Hong Kong bachelor's degree in subjects relevant to History, Economics, Geography, Chinese History, Liberal Studies or Social Science, or equivalent [See Notes 1 and 3];
(b) A certificate in education from a Hong Kong tertiary educational institution, or equivalent;
(c) Met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent [See Note 2];
(d) At least 6 years' relevant post-qualification experience in teaching and/or curriculum development in secondary schools [See Note 4];
(e) Good knowledge of the local education system and the curriculum reform; and
(f) Candidates may be required to take a written test on the day of selection interview.

Note: 1. Candidates should mark clearly on their application forms the major and minor subjects studied in their degree courses. Candidates possessing additional qualifications (e.g. a Master / PhD degree) should include details in their applications.
2. For appointment purpose, 'Grade C' and 'Grade E' in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to 'Level 3' and 'Level 2' respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
3. For general awareness, a locally-accredited Hong Kong bachelor's degree is at Level 5 under the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework (HKQF). While there are other qualifications under HKQF Level 5, for the purpose of this recruitment exercise, only bachelor's degree in the relevant subjects is acceptable. 4. Candidates should state the nature and relevancy of the post-qualification experience.

Terms of Appointment: Successful candidates will be employed on non-civil service contract period for 1 year.
Remuneration
Salary: $412 per hour (Required to work for around 16 hours per week)
