Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Unix Patch Management Engineer to join our team in a full-time, permanent capacity. This role is based onsite at a client location and involves managing patching activities across enterprise-grade Unix systems. The ideal candidate will be dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working during non-standard hours to support critical system updates.

Responsibilities:

• Execute patching and system updates across various Unix environments to maintain security and performance;

• Collaborate with client IT teams to plan and implement patching schedules;

• Diagnose and resolve issues related to patch deployment;

• Maintain thorough documentation of patching activities and system modifications;

• Conduct monthly reviews with the client to assess vulnerability status and provide advisory on the overall security posture of the IT environment.

Requirements:

• Required Technical Skills: Proficiency in Oracle Solaris, IBM AIX, and Red Hat Linux operating systems;

• Preferred Additional Skills: Experience with IBM HMC (Hardware Management Console), IBM VIO (Virtual I/O Server), IBM PowerHA (High Availability Cluster), Red Hat Virtualization, and Oracle SPARC Server;

• Proven experience in Unix system administration and patch management;

• Strong analytical and communication skills;

• Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed;

• Ability to work independently and onsite at client premises.
