We are seeking a capable and discreet R&D professional to develop and execute a confidential company-owned research project focused on the enhancement of natural turquoise. The successful candidate will be responsible for method development, experimentation, documentation, reporting, and protection of all confidential information, technical know-how, research data, processes, results, and intellectual property generated during the project.
Key responsibilities:
Develop, test, and optimize R&D methods for enhancing natural semi precious stones in line with company objectives.
Confidential R&D: Conduct proprietary research and experimentation under strict confidentiality, ensuring all technical information, formulas, procedures, samples, data, and results are protected and disclosed only to authorized company representatives.
Company Ownership: Acknowledge and support that all R&D concepts, processes, methods, improvements, findings, documentation, reports, data, and intellectual property created or developed during employment belong exclusively to the company.
Data Integrity and Secure Records: Maintain accurate, complete, and timely records of experiments, observations, results, failures, improvements, and conclusions, and ensure secure storage of all research materials and project documents.
Maintain laboratory facilities, including routine maintenance, scheduling and oversight of cleaning, and ensuring equipment is in safe working order.
Interpret, translate, and report R&D progress to management in a timely and confidential manner.
Follow company policies on confidentiality, invention assignment, document control, sample handling, and protection of trade secrets.
Other ad hoc duties as assigned
Requirements:
Degree holder or above in Chemistry, Engineering and Technology or relevant subject
Experience and knowledge on Electrochemistry and can operate electrolytic equipment
Knowledge and familiarity with natural stones and gems
Experience in gemstone treatment, mineral processing, material enhancement, surface treatment, chemical processing, or related R&D is an advantage.
Experience in commercial laboratory or related industry is preferred
Good analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work independently
High level of integrity, discretion, and awareness of confidentiality, trade secret protection, and company intellectual property ownership.
Good management, communication and interpersonal skills
Strong technical documentation skills and ability to prepare clear research reports for management review.
