Sustainability Officer

You will be a Sustainability Officer for a large construction company supporting the development and implementation of sustainability-related strategies, initiatives, and achievement of targets for the Group.




  • Support the sustainability management team with the delivery of programmes and initiatives;
  • Support the ESG data management, analysis, and reporting exercises;
  • Conduct research and present recommendations on emerging issues and solutions;
  • Engage with internal teams, potential partners and suppliers;
  • Support strategy development, action planning, and target setting;
  • Assist with stakeholder engagement, events, campaigns, and promotion activities;
  • Prepare minutes, reports, communications materials, and presentations;
  • Assist with training, education, promotion, and communication;
  • Occasionally supporting preparation for tenders for new projects.




  • Degree in environmental or sustainability related discipline;
  • Around 2-3 years' experience of working in a sustainability-related role;
  • Experience in annual sustainability reporting following a recognised standard (e.g. GRI Standards) and exposure to TCFD;
  • Experience in working in the built environment sector including the concept of whole life carbon would be advantageous but not essential;
  • Understanding and / or experience in social value, creating shared value, and corporate community investment;
  • Green or healthy buildings professional accreditation (e.g. BEAM Pro, LEED AP, WELL AP etc.) would be an advantage.
