Assistant Manager, Ordering & Inventory Control

We are currently looking for a high caliber candidate to join our Planning and Supply Chain team as Assistant Manager, Ordering & Inventory Control ".


In this role, you will:


  • Manage day-to-day Inventory Control & Purchasing operations, ensuring the team delivers within expectations and production and service delivery requirements.
  • Effectively support culinary and commercial teams in advance of and/or during customer presentations to ensure pricing, product details and MOQs are communicated accurately.
  • Develop effective, strong and ethical business relationships with our approved suppliers and partners to ensure reliable supplier service within pre-set KPIs maximising ‘credit for value’ and eradicating “non-value” added activities.
  • Work with suppliers and internal customers to ensure deliveries are in accordance with:
  • Purchase Order requirements
  • Delivery time slots & OTD
  • Gate Gourmet Quality and Safety policies
  • Request suppliers exchange or return items has any problems and check with Receiving team to make sure process has completed
  • Foresee and plan for future capacity needs
  • Follow up FAC (Flight Attendance’s Comment) and request suppliers investigation report to prevent reoccurrence
  • Inspect last week's delivery time by each vendor for smooth inspection/receiving
  • Respond to the daily operation site inspection report and resolve problem
  • Escalate any issue or any change to procurement team in the weekly team meeting
  • Secure the execution of the processes with regards to quantitative and qualitative rules and procedures
  • Coordinate the use of automated and ERP systems where necessary
  • Other ad-hoc projects as required



To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years in a supply chain related or management role - Food and Beverage/FMCG or Catering industries background
  • Proven leadership skills/Project Lead experience within purchasing environment is an advantage
  • Relevant experience in SAP/SACS or supply chain related systems
  • A good understanding of the impact of purchasing activities on production and stores operations
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Able to review, observe and analyze the information from various sources
  • Excellent time management skills required. Ability to handle multiple tasks without losing focus on priorities.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills required.
  • Intermediate Computer skills required. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Excel, Word, outlook, PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with multiple departments and customers
  • Good command of written and oral communication skills.
  • Local Language and basic business English are advantageous
