About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team, based in San Po Kong, Wong Tai Sin District. This is a pivotal position within our accounting function, responsible for overseeing financial accounting and reporting activities. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, whilst providing strategic support to the finance department and wider business. This role offers the opportunity to develop your expertise in financial accounting and reporting, working with a dynamic team committed to maintaining the highest standards of financial management.

Key responsibilities

1. Preparing and reviewing financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and regulations

2. Managing the general ledger, including posting journals, reconciling accounts and ensuring accuracy of financial data

3. Conducting month-end and year-end closing procedures, including accruals, provisions and adjusting entries

4. Reconciling balance sheet accounts and investigating discrepancies or unusual transactions

5. Supporting the external audit process by providing documentation, explanations and analysis as required

6. Preparing financial reports and analyses for management and stakeholders

7. Ensuring compliance with accounting policies, procedures and relevant financial reporting standards

8. Maintaining accurate records and supporting documentation for all accounting transactions

9. Assisting with the implementation and improvement of accounting processes and internal controls

10. Mentoring and providing guidance to junior accounting staff as required

What we're looking for

• Professional accounting qualification (such as LCCI Leave 3, HKICPA, or equivalent) or substantial progress towards achieving one

• 5-8 years of post-qualification experience in financial accounting and reporting roles

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) or Hong Kong Financial Reporting Standards (HKFRS)

• Proficiency in accounting software and systems, with excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Demonstrated experience in preparing and reviewing financial statements for external reporting purposes

• Thorough understanding of month-end and year-end closing procedures

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail

• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

• Good communication skills and ability to explain complex financial information clearly

• Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with team members and other departments

• Experience with regulatory compliance and audit requirements is highly desirable
