Summer Intern-(Non-Civil)
Job Description
The candidate will mainly assist in the following duties:
(a) providing executive and secretariat support to funds under Home Affairs Bureau’s purview;
(b) implementing funding schemes under the funds;
(c) providing logistics support to the implementation of various community initiatives (including the organisation of talks, cultural activities, awarding ceremonies, etc.);
(d) conducting background researches and compiling statistics;
(e) drafting of speeches and replies; and
(f) other duties as assigned by the seniors.
Requirements
Applicants should -
(a) be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region;
(b) be full-time undergraduate students of local / non-local post-secondary institutions entering Year 2 or above in the school year of 2021/22. Priority may be given to candidates majoring in history or cultural management-related disciplines;
(c) have good command of both written and spoken Chinese and English;
(d) have good organisation, analytical and liaison skills, with ability to work independently;
(e) have strong communication and interpersonal skills; and
(f) be proficient in PC applications, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, etc.

Terms of Appointment: Successful applicant will be engaged under non-civil service appointment. The employment period is about one to two months from July to August 2021. He/she is normally required to work 44 hours per week, inclusive of meal breaks.

(f) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. They should submit copies of their official transcripts and certificates by mail to the below enquiry address.

Remuneration
Salary: HK$10,500 per month

Fringe Benefits Unless otherwise provided, rest days, statutory holidays, general holidays, paid leave, sickness days and sickness allowance, where appropriate, are generally in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance (Cap. 57). Successful candidate is subject to the Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme Ordinance (Cap. 485).

Hong Kong students studying in local post-secondary institutions should apply through the Student Affairs Offices/Career Centres of their respective institutions. Students studying in non-local post-secondary institutions should download application forms from the Civil Service Bureau's web site (http://www.csb.gov.hk/english/admin/appoint/782.html). The completed application form, together with the applicant’s resume, copies of official transcripts and a letter certifying the student status (bearing the letter head of the post-secondary institutions they are currently enrolled on) should reach the enquiry address below by post on or before 30 April 2021. Applications not made in the prescribed application forms for the summer internship programme (rev.1/2020), or submitted by fax / e-mail will not be accepted.

Please mark “Application for the Summer Intern (Culture Division 2)” on the envelope. (The postmark date on the envelope will be regarded as the date of application.) Applicants should ensure that the correct address is clearly printed or written on the envelope and sufficient postage is affixed before posting to avoid unsuccessful delivery of application. Any underpaid mail items will be returned or disposed of by the Hongkong Post. Applications which are late, incomplete or without the relevant supporting documents will not be considered. Candidates who are selected for interview will normally receive an invitation in about three weeks from the closing date for application. Those who are not invited for interview may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.
