Job Description
(a) To perform general clerical duties, including data entry, filing, dispatch, procurement and finance related duties; (b) To provide administrative support, including managing meeting and work schedules, providing logistics support to meetings, and liaising and coordinating with various organisations; (c) To process funding applications, including vetting, data-input and following up the applications; (d) To answer enquiries and complaints from the public; (e) To provide support to events related to the Women and Family Affairs Division; and (f) Any other duties assigned. * Note: The main location of work is Wong Chuk Hang / Wan Chai or Admiralty and the actual location of work assigned is subject to the operational need of the Bureau. The successful candidate may be required to work irregular hours and overtime (including evenings and weekends), and work occasionally outdoors.
Requirements
Candidates should have – (a) attained five subjects at Level 2 / Grade E or above in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) / Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) (including Chinese Language, English Language and Mathematics) [Notes (1) and (2)], or equivalent; (b) been familiar with computer operations, such as word-processing, spreadsheet and presentation software [Note (3)]; (c) at least two years’ full-time clerical working experience, with experience in the Government/public sector organisation being an advantage. Supporting Documents: Applicants must provide full application form and supporting documents proving that they have obtained the academic qualifications and working experience that fulfill the above-mentioned entry requirements. Applications will not be considered if applicants fail to provide such supporting documents.? Note: (1) “Attained” in Applied Learning subjects (subject to a maximum of two Applied Learning subjects), and Grade E in Other Language subjects in the HKDSEE are accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the New Senior Secondary subjects in the HKDSEE. (2) “Grade E” in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to “Level 2” in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth. (3) Applicants may be required to attend a Chinese and English word processing speed test and the test on the application of common business software of Microsoft Office Word and Excel (“skills test”). Applicants may state clearly the knowledge of computer software and the Chinese and English typing speeds in the “Professional Qualifications” column of the application form. (4) An invitation to the skills test or recruitment interview does not imply that the candidate has met the entry requirements of the post. (5) As invitations or notifications will be sent to candidates by email, candidates should provide an accurate email address in their application. Candidates are responsible for checking their email account to ensure that invitations or notifications have been duly received.
Terms of Appointment: Successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for a period of 24 months.
Remuneration
$17,200 per month
Fringe Benefits A gratuity may be granted at the end of the contract period if the contract is satisfactorily completed with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Government’s contribution to the Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) Scheme as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, equals to 10% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. In addition to statutory holidays, 12 days paid annual leave, maternity leave and sickness allowance will be granted to the candidates appointed. Details of which will be confirmed at the time of the offer of appointment.

The said form can also be downloaded from the Civil Service Bureau’s website (http://www.csb.gov.hk). The new version of application form for Government jobs G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023) has been in use with effect from 26 July 2023. Candidates who apply for Government jobs advertised on or after 26 July 2023 should use the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023). If candidates submit the old version form (G.F. 340 (Rev. 3/2013)), they will be required to fill in the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023) afresh and submit it within seven days upon request. If candidates fail to submit the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023) within the stipulated deadline, their applications will not be processed further. Completed application form together with the supporting documents should reach the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau, 4/F, Southorn Centre, 130 Hennessy Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong on or before the closing date for application (the postmark date on the envelope will be regarded as the date of submission of application). Please do NOT submit any original copy of the supporting documents. Please mark “Application for General Clerk (Women and Family Affairs Division)” on the envelope. Candidates should ensure that the correct address is clearly printed or written on the envelope and sufficient postage is affixed before posting to avoid unsuccessful delivery of application. Any underpaid mail items will be returned or disposed of by the Hongkong Post. Applications which are late or incomplete will not be considered. Candidates who are selected for interview will normally receive an invitation in about 6 weeks from the closing date for application. Those who are not invited for interview may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.
