Established in 1995, the Hong Kong Arts Development Council is a statutory body set up by the Government to support the broad development of the arts in Hong Kong. Its major roles include grant allocation, policy and planning, advocacy, promotion and development, and programme planning.

Senior Officer, Hong Kong Performing Arts Expo (Job ref: SO-2525-ADC)

The Hong Kong Arts Development Council ("HKADC") is organising the second edition of Hong Kong Performing Arts Expo (“HKPAX”) and we are now looking for Senior Officers to provide assistance in handling a wide range of matters related to the organisation of HKPAX. This role is ideal for candidates with strong coordination skills, a passion for the performing arts, and experience in event or project support. The Senior Officers will work closely with a dynamic team to deliver a high-impact international event.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and organising HKPAX events including the opening and closing ceremonies, performances, exhibitions, talks, networking events and public programmes;
  • Liaise with third party contractors to provide logistical support and services such as venue set up and dismantling, crowd management, transportation and hospitality arrangements etc.;
  • Assist in coordinating with third party contractors for matters related to marketing and publicity including brand building, development of the official website, promotion on social media platforms and other channels, preparation of publicity materials, etc.;
  • Assist in supporting the Local and International Advisory Panels in selection of artists/arts groups for International Showcases and Pitch Session, and other activities;
  • Assist in the liaison with selected artists, speakers, major performing arts groups and venues including venue reservation and booking, ticket sale and reservation of tickets for delegates, technical and front of house requirements;
  • Facilitate guest management for HKPAX by coordinating selected artists, speakers, participants and exhibitors while addressing inquiries and handling ad hoc requests;
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the seniors.

 

Requirements:

  • University graduate or equivalent, preferably in Arts and Cultural Management, Event Management, Business, Marketing, Communication or related disciplines;
  • At least 4 years of relevant full-time working experience in the field of arts and culture, project and programme management experience;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (both Cantonese and Putonghua);
  • Strong project management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously;
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills and able to work independently and under pressure;
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and Chinese word processing;
  • Knowledge in Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, HTML, Flash or experience in managing and maintaining a website and social media platforms will be an advantage;
  • Previous experience with NGOs and public organisations in organising large-scale arts events , local or international art market / trade fair will be an added value;
  • Friendly and pleasant character, organised, proactive and able to adapt to rapidly changing environment.

Successful candidate will be offered a 20-month contract. Salary offered will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
