We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Science and Technology:
Part-time Research Assistant I (R7031,R7051) (S&T) (Ref: 24001XK)
Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will mainly assist the research team in one or more of the following research projects in the field of Construction Management, Operation Training and Building Services:
- A Study of Touchless Finger Platform for Smart Building Management (R7031); and
- Effectiveness of Building and Construction Interactive Simulators (BCiS) for Safety and Operation Training (R7051).
The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:
- Preparing the specimen and operating the building and civil machines;
- Conducting various experiments in the science and engineering laboratories and VR training;
- Designing, developing and maintaining IoT Building Management Systems and VR system;
- Conducting data analysis on user performance;
- Reviewing literature and assisting in publication;
- Working with the Principal Investigator to prepare report writing; and
- Conducting other ad-hoc research activities as instructed by the Principal Investigator.
Candidates
Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:
- A Master's degree or above in Quality Management, Business Administration or a related discipline;
- Familiar with Building Management System (BMS), web and/or mobile app development, design and programming;
- Knowledge of programming skills, e.g. JavaScript, C#, Unity and 3ds Max;
- Working experience with technical support; and
- Detail-oriented, reliable, hardworking, responsible, and able to meet deadlines and work independently.
Terms and Conditions for Appointment
Successful candidate(s) will be appointed on a temporary part-time contract. Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions.
