We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Science & Technology:
Project Manager (Digital Construction Recording Project) (S&T) (Ref: 26000F8)
Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:
- Leading the identification of critical construction phases, (including, but not limited to, the foundation, site formation, superstructure, BIM, quantity surveying and Building Services & Finishes) suitable areas for digital recording based throughout the development of the new HKMU Campus;
- Planning and executing the Digital Construction Record (DCR) strategy to transform the campus development into a dynamic educational laboratory for construction field related academic programmes;
- Collaborating closely with the construction team (including, but not limited to, consultants, engineers, and contractors) and academic staff of HKMU to plan detailed recording schedules that align with site progress while minimizing interference to construction works;
- Capturing and documenting specific construction metrics, such as plant and equipment adoption, safety risks, site layout planning, engineers' hold points for quality control, and quantity measurement;
- Managing the DCR Team, including the supervision of a Technical Officer, and overseeing the maintenance of digital capture equipment and data servers;
- Ensuring digital records reflect diverse professional perspectives, including those of project managers, quantity surveyors, and quality control engineers;
- Liaising with consultants and contractors in matters relating to campus development for the University; and
- Performing any other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Candidates
Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:
- A recognized degree in construction field or a related discipline;
- A minimum of six years of on-field construction project experience;
- Proven practical experience in construction project management;
- Practical experience in Building Information Modelling (BIM);
- Ability to lead and manage teams and coordinate effectively with external contractors and consultants;
- Excellent leadership and management skills as well as interpersonal skill with servicing mindset;
- Able to work under high pressure, heavy workload, and intense time and budget constraints;
- Strong technical knowledge of construction sequences and site safety hazards;
- Proficiency in using digital capture technology and managing data storage systems, and
- Effective spoken and written communication skills in both English and Chinese (preferably including Putonghua).
