We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Science & Technology:
Technical Officer (Digital Construction Recording Project) (S&T) (Ref: 26000F9)
Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:
- Assisting in the planning and implementation of the Digital Construction Record (DCR) strategy for campus development projects;
- Coordinating with consultants, contractors, site staff, and internal academic teams to support digital recording schedules aligned with site progress;
- Supporting on-site digital data capture, including (but not limited to) photo, video, and 360-degree recording of critical construction activities and site conditions;
- Organising, cataloguing, and maintaining digital construction records, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility for educational use;
- Assisting in documenting construction sequences, safety practices, quality control measures, and site management arrangements from multiple professional perspectives;
- Supporting the preparation of teaching materials, reports, summaries, and presentations derived from digital construction records;
- Providing logistical and administrative support to the DCR team, including equipment handling, basic data management, and coordination tasks; and
- Performing any other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Candidates
Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:
- A recognised degree or higher diploma in Construction, Civil Engineering, Building Studies, Surveying, Construction Management, or a related construction related discipline;
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in construction projects, site coordination, project support, or technical/engineering support roles;
- Basic understanding of construction sequences, site operations, and safety practices;
- Familiarity with digital documentation, photo/video recording, or data organisation is an advantage;
- Exposure to Building Information Modelling (BIM) or digital construction tools is preferred;
- Good organisational and coordination skills with attention to detail;
- Ability to work on construction sites and coordinate with multiple stakeholders;
- Effective communication skills in English and Chinese (Putonghua is an advantage); and
- A proactive, responsible, and service-oriented working attitude.
