Postdoctoral Researcher, Smart Living

Job Description

What you'll do:

  • Responsible for government-funded R&D projects implementation including but not limited to the field of Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Automotive, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics
  • Support the Smart City related R&D project including Cloud computing, PropTech, ConTech, Microelectronic or Medical AI
  • Research and utilize various techniques of audio signal processing/ image processing, machine/deep learning, building Deep Neural Network (DNN) and other neural networks to conduct development work 
  • Work closely with supervisor to keep track of progress. Ensure full compliance of project goals and Innovation and Technology Fund (ITF)’s requirements
  • Support the development work, collect and analyze data; learn and master application of different techniques or technologies including Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, simulation, system design, computer vision, etc.
  • Prepare proposals and report related to project progress and issues in timely manner
  • Engage in partnership with industry partners and Universities
  • Organize promotional activities related to the projects, such as study missions, presentation on workshops or technical seminars, capability building and exhibition etc
  • Support ad hoc projects and assignments and occasional travels to Mainland China or overseas may be required

You'll be a good fit if you have/are:

  • Doctoral Degree holder in Data science, Computer science, Data/System Engineering, Microelectronic, Mechatronic/Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Robotics and Automation, Artificial Intelligence or related disciplines
  • Experience in R&D, government projects and patent applications preferred but not necessary
  • Experience in conducting research in supercomputing, microelectronic, digital signal processing, IoT communication technologies, wireless communication, big data analytics, automotive technologies, sensor technologies, computer science, automation is an advantage

Knowledge and experience in any ONE of the following expertise will be is a plus:

  1. Build computing infrastructure, cloud computing and/or green computing
  2. Chip design and/or Hands-on skills in RISC-V programming
  3. LLM and NLP
  4. Build AI models using platforms, such as cuDNN, TensorRT, C++ programming in Linux, etc.
  5. Hands-on skills in one of any deep learning platforms, such as Keras, Tensorflow, Caffe, CNTK, PyTorch, etc.
  6. Automotive system design/ Mechanical design/ EV charger & Electrical design
  7. Internet of Things (IoT) devices and/or Information Communication Technology
  8. System and Software development (in C/C++, Python or Java, etc.)
  9. Robotic, ROS, Point cloud data processing
  10. Speech and noise recognition
  11. Programming Languages: Java, JavaScript, PHP, C#, SQL, etc.
  12. BACnet Tools: VTS, YABE, Wireshark, ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 135.1, ISO 16484-5.
  13. Computer communications - IP, ARP, DHCP, TCP/UDP, HTTP
  14. Routing Protocols - OSPF, BGP, RIP, Unicast, Multicast
  15. X.509, TLS/SSL, VPN Setup, Intranet Security, VLAN Hopping Attack, DHCP Spoofing, ARP Spoofing, Dynamic ARP Inspection, Port Security.
  • Strong analytical mind with problem solving skills
  • Good command of English and Putonghua
  • Applicant will be assigned to different projects subject to relevant working experience
