Job Description
Invest Hong Kong is the department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government tasked to attract and retain foreign direct investment in Hong Kong. Working with our teams in key Mainland cities, the Mainland Team is dedicated to attracting Mainland investors to set up and expand their business in Hong Kong. The key role of Assistant Manager (Mainland) is to assist the team in providing administrative and logistic support to the investment promotion activities in Hong Kong and the Mainland, as well as implementing strategies and promotional plans for the Mainland market. Duties (a) To provide logistic support to meetings with government departments, stakeholders and delegations, including preparing related documents for the meetings, setting of meeting venues, liaising on logistic arrangement and drafting meeting notes; (b) To provide administrative and logistic support to online and offline Mainland-related investment promotion activities in Hong Kong and the Mainland, including preparing budget, procurement and claims of expenses for the events, providing pre-event preparation and on-site logistic support, drafting event reports, and maintaining event records; (c) To receive delegations from the Mainland and arrange visit programmes for Mainland companies in Hong Kong; (d) To provide research support and assist in updating the presentation materials; (e) To provide support in general administrative, supplies and procurement matters; and (f) To perform other ad hoc duties as required.
Requirements
(a) Two years of relevant full-time work experience gained in Mainland business development, event management or stakeholder engagement with Mainland counterparts are preferred; (b) A Bachelor’s degree from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent; (c) Meet the language proficiency requirements of “Level 2” results in the two language papers (Use of Chinese and Use of English) in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE) or equivalent (see Notes (a) to (c)); (d) An excellent command of both written and spoken Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua) and English. Proficiency in another language would be an advantage; and (e) Proficient in English and Chinese word processing, and the applications of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.? Note: (a) Level 5 or above in Chinese Language of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) is accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the Use of Chinese (UC) paper of the CRE. Level 5 or above in English Language of the HKDSEE is accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the Use of English (UE) paper of the CRE. (b) Grade C or above in Use of English of the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) or in English Language of the General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) (GCE A Level) is accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the UE paper of the CRE. Grade C or above in Chinese Language and Culture or Chinese Language and Literature of the HKALE is accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the UC paper of the CRE. (c) An overall band of 6.5 or above with no subtest score below band 6 obtained in the same sitting in the Academic Module of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) within the two-year validity period of the test is accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the UE paper of the CRE. The IELTS test result must be valid on any date during the application period.
Terms of Appointment: Successful applicant will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for three months and the term may be extended up to an accumulative period of not more than 24 months subject to satisfactory performance and at the discretion of Invest Hong Kong. Further renewal of contract will be subject to the service need of the department and the performance and conduct of the applicant.
Remuneration
HK$23,585 per month
Fringe Benefits (a) An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract. Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will equal 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period; and (b) Applicant appointed will be granted 14 days of annual leave and the entitlement of annual leave will be calculated on pro-rata basis for appointment less than 12 months. Other benefits, such as rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), maternity/ paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted mainly in line with the provisions of the Hong Kong Employment Ordinance.
