Job Description
Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK) is looking for a passionate and high-calibre professional to join its Market Intelligence Team as Assistant Manager. This role is mainly responsible for providing administrative support on various matters in the delivery of investment promotion mission of the department to attract Mainland and overseas companies to set up or expand business operations in Hong Kong. Duties (a) To handle general enquiries and compile relevant statistical reports; (b) To provide support on maintenance of the departmental databases and online directories which includes handling related registration requests, enquiries and procurement matters, and conducting user acceptance tests when necessary, etc.; (c) To conduct desktop research, compile statistics and update reference materials to support investment promotion work of the department; (d) To collaborate with internal and external parties to support the implementation of surveys and research projects (including procurement matters and other follow-up actions); (e) To provide administrative support to the Market Intelligence Team’s daily operation, including records management and compilation of returns; and (f) To perform any other duties as assigned by senior officers.
Requirements
(a) Two years of relevant full-time work experience gained in customer service, market research, business administration, administrative support or a related field are preferred. Work experience in Government department, handling public enquiries and/ or maintaining/upgrading computer system will be an advantage; (b) A Bachelor’s degree from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent, preferably in business administration, economics, international marketing or a related field; (c) Customer centric mindset with commitment to deliver quality service, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, self-motivated, and able to work independently and in a team environment; (d) Excellent command of written and spoken Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua) and English; (e) Meet the language proficiency requirements of “Level 2” results in the two language papers (Use of Chinese and Use of English) in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE) or equivalent (see Notes (a) to (c)); and (f) Proficient in English and Chinese word processing, applications of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.? Note: (a) Level 5 or above in Chinese Language of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) is accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the Use of Chinese (UC) paper of the CRE. Level 5 or above in English Language of the HKDSEE is accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the Use of English (UE) paper of the CRE. (b) Grade C or above in Use of English of the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) or in English Language of the General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) (GCE A Level) is accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the UE paper of the CRE. Grade C or above in Chinese Language and Culture or Chinese Language and Literature of the HKALE is accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the UC paper of the CRE. (c) An overall band of 6.5 or above with no subtest score below band 6 obtained in the same sitting in the Academic Module of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) within the two-year validity period of the test is accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the UE paper of the CRE. The IELTS test result must be valid on any date during the application period.
Terms of Appointment: Successful applicant will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for three months and the term may be extended up to an accumulative period of not more than 24 months subject to satisfactory performance and at the discretion of Invest Hong Kong. Further renewal of contract will be subject to the service need of the department and the performance and conduct of the applicant.
Remuneration
HK$23,585 per month
Fringe Benefits (a) An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract. Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will equal 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period; and (b) Applicant appointed will be granted 14 days of annual leave and the entitlement of annual leave will be calculated on pro-rata basis for appointment less than 12 months. Other benefits, such as rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), maternity/ paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted mainly in line with the provisions of the Hong Kong Employment Ordinance.
