Assistant Manager (StartmeupHK)(Ref: IPA/01/2021)-(Non-Civil)
Job Description
The Assistant Manager provides administrative and logistical support to the StartmeupHK team members in the delivery of the investment promotion missions of the department as well as its facilitation services to attract overseas and Mainland companies to set up or expand business operations in Hong Kong. Detailed responsibilities include the following:

(i) To assist in the administration and coordination of the StartmeupHK Festival and other StartmeupHK events;
(ii) To provide logistic and administrative support for investment promotion missions and projects targeted at the overseas and Mainland markets;
(iii) To prepare briefs and presentation materials on investment promotion related initiatives and provide support in budgetary control;
(iv) To maintain and manage departmental systems and databases, and to input contact details and other relevant records into the Customer Relationship Management System;
(v) To undertake research for enquiries from internal and external users;
(vi) To provide administrative support in record keeping, e.g. staff overtime work/time-off record, procurement of goods/services, payments and spending records, sponsorship for local/overseas events, etc.; and
(vii) To carry out any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

General Notes: (a) Applicants must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. They should submit copies of their official transcripts and certificates by e-mail.
(a) A minimum of three years of relevant full-time work experience gained in business administration, account management, international marketing/sales, public relations, advertising, or events management;
(b) A Bachelor’s degree from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent, preferably in business administration, finance, economics, marketing, communications, public relations, advertising, events management or related field;
(c) Meet the language proficiency requirements of “Level 2” results in the two language papers (Use of Chinese and Use of English) in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE) or equivalent (see Notes (a) to (c));
(d) Knowledge of other language(s) would be an advantage;
(e) Familiarity of implementing effective strategies on digital media and other social media platforms such as video production, webinar production, etc. would be an advantage; and
(f) Proficient in English and Chinese word processing, and in the applications of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Note: (a) Level 5 or above in Chinese Language of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) is accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the Use of Chinese (UC) paper of the CRE. Level 5 or above in English Language of the HKDSEE is accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the Use of English (UE) paper of the CRE.
(b) Grade C or above in Use of English of the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) or in English Language of the General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) (GCE A Level) is accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the UE paper of the CRE. Grade C or above in Chinese Language and Culture or Chinese Language and Literature of the HKALE is accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the UC paper of the CRE.

Terms of Appointment: Successful applicant will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for 12 months.
Salary: HK$21,340 per month

Fringe Benefits (a) An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract. Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will equal 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period; and
(b) Applicant appointed will be granted 14 days of annual leave. Other benefits, such as rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), maternity/ paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted mainly in line with the provisions of the Hong Kong Employment Ordinance.
