What you’ll do
- Responsible to lead a professional Facilities Management team in daily operations, including cleaning, security, customer services, event, landscaping, office administration, procurement, etc.
- Manage in-house and contractor staff performance, provide training, ensure the effective management information is being reviewed to continually improve services
- Supervise all on site works to minimize health and safety risks, ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations
- Act as advisor on best practices by performing research and planning related to future initiatives
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team
- Negotiate all major facilities service contracts & provide subcontractor management
- Implement management and operational strategies and exercise effective cost/ budget control
- Maintain positive client relationships and conduct meetings on unresolved facility issues
- Monitor with contractors, vendors, and university stakeholders to monitor projects progress are completed on time and within budget
- Promote and support initiatives for sustainable campus operations
- Prepare and execute the Crisis Management Plan, provide regular drills to the Section and other end users
- Perform any other duties as assigned
Key qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Operations Management, Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in facilities management of which at least 10 years at senior management role, with proven track record of management
Personal skills you excel
- Experience in managing IFC portfolio, large and multi-cultural work team
- Excellent leadership, self-motivated, organizing and problem-solving skills, good communication, and interpersonal skills
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese are required
- Knowledge in relevant statutory regulations/ ordinances/ code of practice
- Effective incident management & reporting skill
