Museum Education Programme Coordinator

Employment Term: Full time & Contract

Contract Period: 12 months
Place of Work: Hong Kong Heritage Museum

Working Hours: Normally Monday-Friday 09:00 am - 06:00 pm

Salary: $22,000/month + Transport Allowance + End Contract Gratuity

Job Duties: 

  • To assist in the delivery of museum education programmes;
  • To coordinate the daily operation of programmes and guided tour service;
  • To conduct guided tours and workshops for the museum visitors, including school and community groups, and the general public;
  • To provide logistic support to the museum docent programme, such as database management, training sessions, liaison with docents and etc.;
  • To analyze the feedbacks and produce reports for public programmes;
  • To provide logistics and research support to guided tour services and other public programmes;
  • To coordinate with Museum Ambassadors and other teams in the museum;
  • To assist in the production of online programmes;
  • To perform any other duties as assigned by senior officers.


  • Bachelor degree in Museum Studies, Cultural Management, Creative Media, Event Management, Tourism, Education, History or related disciplines from a local or overseas university, or equivalent;
  • Two years of full-time working experience prior to the quotation closing date, responsible for museum education programmes preferably in museums or cultural institutions, including at least one of the following duties: a) planning and producing guided tour programmes; or b) conducting or coordinating museum education programmes/ managing crowds/ handling visitor's enquiries; or c) facilitating logistics and preparation of events and activities; d) back office support;
  • Experience in conducting guided tours held in local or overseas museums or cultural institutions, in Cantonese/ English/ Putonghua is preferable;
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; fluency in Putonghua; knowledge in any other language will be an advantage;
  • Excellent communication skills, careful, organized, able to work independently, with a strong sense of responsibility;
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, weekends, public holidays and overtime as and when required;
  • With practical computer skills, e.g. MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint; and
  • Knowledge in using digital camera and photo and video editing software, e.g. Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere Pro. will be an advantage.
