Project Director(One-year contract)(Ref: 20-25/RC)

The  Project  Director  will  be  responsible  for  tender  preparation  and  hands-on  management  of  DBO projects in waste facilities in Hong Kong.

Project Management experience must include:

  • A  minimum  of  20  years'  experience  in  a  related  role  with  various  phases  of  project implementation.
  • Hands on experience managing capital work project of HK$300 Million+.
  • In-depth understanding of industry and regulatory standards.
  • Acts as a bid director for the purposes of preparing and submitting tenders.
  • Development and management of project team, and subcontractor selection and management.
  • Full oversight of detail engineering design, procurement and construction management through modification and commissioning facilities in accordance with the Contract obligations.
  • Leadership,  i.e.,  using  project,  operations  and  people  management  and  development  skills, together with financial and business insight, to effectively manage large DBO projects.•Core project operations, i.e., oversee all phases of project management: cost, schedule and quality performance, budgeting/forecasting, effect decision support and cost structure/cash flow improvements.
  • Advances the safety culture on the project, making safety integral to all work performed.
  • Focuses  on  delivering  work  in  accordance  with  the  quality  standards  and  requirements specified for the project and driving performance that address expectations to Environmental Protection Department (EPD).
  • Maintains liaison with EPD to ensure proper and timely involvement and approvals as well as a professional and business-like client/company relationship throughout the life of the project.
  • Manages and controls project cost and schedule, ensuring that all scope changes are quickly and properly documented, and that change orders are approved prior to performance of work.


The applicant shall have at least one of the following qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or  construction  discipline,  or  Membership  of  The  Hong  Kong  Institution  of  Engineers,  Chartered Membership of Institution of Civil Engineers (UK), or Chartered Membership of Institution of Structural Engineers  (UK),  or  Chartered  Membership  of  Institution  of  Engineers  Australia,  or  Chartered Membership of Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand.
