Job Title: Primary Learning Support Teacher
The Korean International School is recruiting a dedicated and passionate Primary Learning Support Teacher to join our inclusive education team. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive, equitable and neurodiversity-affirming learning community and will possess expertise in supporting learners with diverse learning profiles within a mainstream environment.
Job Responsibilities:
Foster a school-wide culture of diversity, equity and inclusion
Collaborate with homeroom teachers to design and implement differentiated instruction, accommodation, and universal design for learning (UDL) strategies
Lead, mentor and coordinate with Learning Support Teaching Assistants to optimise student support schedules and initiatives
Design, implement and review individualised student support plans, including Individual Educational Programmes (IEP)
Provide targeted, evidence-based intervention to students in one-on-one or small group settings, utilising both in-class (push-in) and specialised (pull-out) models
Document student progress through formative assessment and maintain clear, ongoing communication with the multidisciplinary team, including staff, parents and external specialists
Conduct admissions screenings and learning needs assessments for prospective students. Provide recommendations to the admissions team regarding student placement and necessary support structures to ensure a successful transition
Coordinate and participate in student support meetings, IEP reviews, Parent-Teacher Conferences and relevant staff meetings
Contribute to neurodiversity professional development training and community awareness initiatives
Engage in continuous professional development to remain current with best practices in inclusive and special education
Perform additional duties assigned by the Head of Learning Support, Vice Principal or Principal
Qualifications and Requirements:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Special Education or a closely related field
A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent)
Minimum of three years of recent, relevant experience in a learning support role within a primary mainstream educational setting
Experience with the English National Curriculum and International Primary Curriculum (IPC) is preferred
Experience in developing, implementing and evaluating individualised student support plans and IEPs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, parents and external professionals
Strong organisational, interpersonal and motivational skills
Proficiency with educational technology and digital tools to enhance teaching, learning and student data management
