The Korean International School is recruiting an experienced and dedicated SEN Primary Homeroom Teacher to join our inclusive education team. The successful candidate will be a reflective classroom practitioner committed to fostering an accessible, equitable and affirming environment where every learner is known, valued and supported to reach their full potential.
Job Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver high quality, engaging and differentiated instruction within a neurodiverse classroom setting
Design and adapt learning materials, environments and assessments to meet the diverse cognitive, sensorial and social-emotional profiles of all students
Utilise a variety of formative and summative assessment strategies to monitor student progress, inform instruction and provide meaningful feedback
Proactively monitor students’ well-being and when necessary, develop supportive behavioural plans focused on skill-building and self-regulation
Develop, implement and evaluate Individualised Learning Plans (IEPs) with clear, strengths-based goals
Lead, mentor and collaborate effectively with Homeroom Teaching Assistants to ensure consistent and optimised student support
Maintain proactive, clear and supportive communication with parents, guardians and the multidisciplinary team including therapists and external specialists
Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Primary Division to support student integration, shared best practices and a cohesive school-wide approach to inclusion
Conduct admissions screenings and provide informed recommendations regarding student placement
Engage actively in the school’s Professional Development Programmes and contribute to community awareness initiatives
Engage in continuous professional development to remain current with best practices in inclusive education, neurodiversity-affirming instruction, and special education
Effectively integrate assistive and educational technology to enhance teaching, learning and data management
Fulfill additional duties as assigned by the Head of Springboard, Vice Principals or Principal
Qualifications and Requirements:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Special Education
A recognised qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Minimum of five years of recent, relevant working experience in an accredited Primary SEN educational setting
Expertise in delivering and adapting the British National Curriculum
Experience in developing, implementing and evaluating Individual Educational Plans (IEPs)
Strong knowledge of current educational frameworks, neurodiversity-affirming practices and inclusive methodologies
Experience using student data to inform instruction and personalise learning
Excellent verbal and written communicational skills in English
Exceptional collaborative, organisational, interpersonal and motivational skills
Ability to work effectively and compassionately in a dynamic, high-support environment
