Assistant Manager (Hong Kong Talent Engage) Talent Engagement
Job Description
(a) To assist in identifying and engaging talents and other stakeholders, and fostering mutually beneficial relationships in line with the engagement strategies and mission of HKTE; (b) To assist in facilitating initiatives and projects between Hong Kong and other targeted countries / regions in promoting collaboration in talent development, attraction, engagement and partnerships; (c) To work closely with Hong Kong Economic and Trade Offices around the world as well as relevant government bureaux / departments to assist in devising and implement talent attraction and engagement strategies; (d) To keep rapport and close communication with overseas and mainland related government authorities / organisations / institutions / partners on matters related to talent attraction and engagement initiatives; (e) To assist different talent engagement and support functional areas with diversified duties such as promotion campaign execution; publicity collateral preparation; database management and administrative and logistical support for meetings, events and initiatives related to talent engagement activities; (f) To collaborate with internal teams within HKTE to leverage synergies to enhance the overall impact and effectiveness of the office’s talent engagement and support strategies and foster a proactive and energetic working environment; and (g) To perform any other duties as assigned by senior officers.
Requirements
Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) at the time of appointment and should have – (a) a Bachelor’s degree from a university in Hong Kong, or equivalent; (b) a minimum of 7 years’ full-time post-qualifications work experience, preferably in event and project planning and management, promotion and marketing, client relationship building and business development; (c) met the language proficiency requirement of Level 3 or above in English Language (Syllabus B before 2007) and Chinese Language in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) or the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE), or equivalent; (Note: Grade C in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to Level 3 respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.) (d) proven track record of hands-on collaborative experience in dealing with different parties in the government and business sectors, and providing excellent customer services to stakeholders; (e) excellent interpersonal and communication skills with good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua); (f) excellent understanding of government affairs especially on talent engagement; and (g) proficiency in the application of common business software (including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint) as well as Chinese and English word processing.? Note: Other Job-related Requirements: The hours and venues of work may be varied having regard to the operational needs of the Bureau. The successful candidate may be required to (a) work irregular hours, perform on-call/standby duties and work overtime, including evenings, weekends and public holidays; and (b) work outdoors occasionally.
Terms of Appointment: The successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms. The contract period will commence on the first date of reporting duty and last up to 31 January 2026. Renewal of contract will be subject to the discretion of the Government.
Remuneration
HK$45,640 per month
Fringe Benefits 14 days paid annual leave will be granted to the successful candidate. The eligibility for rest days, statutory holidays (or substitute holidays), maternity / paternity leave and sickness allowance, where appropriate, is in line with those provided for under the Employment Ordinance. A gratuity may be granted at the end of the contract period if the appointee has satisfactorily completed the contract with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) Scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will be equal to 15% of the total basic salary received during the contract period.

If candidates submit the old version form [G.F. 340 (Rev. 3/2013)], they will be required to fill in the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023) afresh and submit it within seven days upon request. If candidates fail to submit the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023) within the stipulated deadline, their applications will not be processed further. A full curriculum vitae (CV), together with a letter of application (in about 300 words) setting out his/her work experience in the fields of event and project planning and management, promotion and marketing, client relationship building and business development in detail (including number of years) and why he/she is a suitable candidate to take up the position, copies of academic qualification certificates and record of previous employment should also be submitted. Candidates who are selected for written test and/or interview will normally receive an invitation for written test and/or interview in about four to eight weeks from the closing date of application. Those who are not invited for written test and/or interview may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.
