Legal Counsel

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provision of general legal and commercial advice to the business (covering tendering, project execution, disputes and general corporate).
  • Claims and Disputes - supporting the Projects and the Business Unit’s management in the preparation of contractual notices and claim documentation, and in the management of disputes.
  • Tender / Contract Reviews – review tender conditions and draft contracts to identify all key risks, terms and conditions and work with the business to identify appropriate risk-treatments.
  • Negotiation of contracts and settlement of disputes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor or above in Law or related disciplines
  • Be a qualified lawyer in Hong Kong with a minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience in practising construction law in law firm or working as an in-house legal counsel for a construction and/or mining services company.
  • Well versed in Asia construction laws and litigation process
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Good analytical skill and detail-minded
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
