Project Manager -(Non-Civil)
Job Description
A Project Manager is mainly deployed on-
1. drafting papers and other documentation on publicity initiatives;
2. proposing and coordinating publicity initiatives;
3. monitoring the work of agencies on publicity initiatives;
4. liaising with government departments and non-government organizations for publicity items and production of various publicity materials;
5. preparing/ vetting write-ups for publicity materials;
6. serving as secretary in committees, working groups and meetings; and
7. performing any other duties as assigned by seniors.

General Notes: 1. Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

7. Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. Requirements
Candidates should have:
1. a degree from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent;
2. met the language proficiency requirements of Level 3 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent;
[Note: For non-civil service appointment purpose, Grade C in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in previous HKCEE is accepted administratively as comparable to Level 3 in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.]
3. at least 8 years’ full-time working experience in publicity/ marketing/ event management at territory-wide or international level, of which 4 years should be in management position;
4. good communication and organization skills; and
5. good computer knowledge in PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Chinese word processing.

Note: Preference will be given to candidates who hold a degree majoring in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Translation or other related disciplines and/or have working experience in writing/media/news/public relations/public affairs.

Candidates who are selected for interview will normally receive an invitation in about six to eight weeks from the closing date for application, but this time is subject to change without prior notification to candidates. Those who are not invited for interview may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.
Remuneration
Salary: $ 50,905

Terms of Appointment: A successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for 12 months.

Fringe Benefits 1. A gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the full contract period with consistently satisfactory standard of performance and conduct. The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Government’s contribution to the Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) Scheme as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, equals to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
2. The benefits in respect of rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), annual leave, maternity leave and sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance and confirmed at the time of the offer of appointment.

4. Applications which are incomplete, or late, or submitted by fax or email, or not duly signed, or not made in the prescribed form will not be considered.
