Responsibilities
The Associate Director of Communications and Public Affairs is responsible for assisting the Director with the overall development and implementation of effective communications and public strategies and programmes at the University. He/She is expected to:
Support the Office in implementing publicity and media communication strategies that highlight the strengths and achievements of the University
Carry out communications and publicity initiatives of the University and enhance Lingnan’s corporate image among its stakeholders
Plan, manage and promote Lingnan through social media platforms, mainstream media and events etc.
Promote different types of programmes including self-financing programmes
Monitor major University publications including the Annual Report, e-newsletter and corporate literature of major events organized by the Office
Cultivate media relationships and identify potential risks and report to the senior management
Supervise and train junior colleagues to ensure the sustainable development of the team
Requirements
A recognised degree or an equivalent qualification with at least 15 years of solid experience and track record in corporate communications, public affairs, marketing, and event management
Extensive working experience in strategic marketing communications and public relations
The knowledge and expertise in strategic application of digital and social media technologies
An excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, and proficiency in Putonghua
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
Strong organizational, problem-solving and presentation skills
Ability to handle projects independently and meet tight schedules
Salary and Fringe Benefits
The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits and mandatory provident fund, and gratuity.
