The postholder will join our internationally-minded learning community. This role requires a passionate educator who can integrate the Readers’ and Writers’ Project workshop methodology with the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme framework, while maintaining a strong focus on pastoral care and restorative practices. As a Malvern College teacher, the postholder will play a full role in the school’s curricular, co-curricular and pastoral programmes.

Academic
Plan and deliver lessons, ensuring attention is given to appropriate differentiation;
Work collaboratively with Prep-level teams to develop a coherent Programme of Inquiry;
Create inquiry-based classrooms that develop critical thinking skills, knowledge and a range of skills within an environment based on trust and respect;
Develop appropriate assessment systems for documenting, measuring, monitoring and reporting on learning;
Develop appropriate systems for marking and providing timely and effective feedback that enhances pupil learning;
Commitment to evidence-based practice and use of assessment data/anecdotal notes to feed into planning, learning and teaching;
Work closely with the PYP Coordinator, Head of Year and PYP colleagues to ensure the effective delivery of the PYP programmes and to design and implement a relevant, challenging and rigorous curriculum;
Implement the Readers’ and Writers’ workshop methodology within PYP transdisciplinary units; and
Design and deliver structured Maths lessons using the Ontario learning objectives
Pastoral Care and Pupil Support
Take responsibility for a prep class, supporting, nurturing and taking a genuine interest in the holistic development of all children in that class;
Build strong, nurturing relationships with pupils based on trust and respect;
Create safe, inclusive learning environments that prioritise social-emotional learning;
Implement developmentally appropriate practices that support pupils' personal growth and well-being; and
Collaborate with families to ensure holistic pupil development
Professional Collaboration
Participate in professional learning communities focused on best practices;
Engage in ongoing professional development and reflective practice;
Attend Parents’ Meetings, Open Days, Admissions Days and CPD as appropriate; and
Play a full part in the school’s admissions process, including attending Saturday Admissions day(s) as required
Key Requirements
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant subject area;
Valid teaching qualification/certification for the required age range;
IB PYP training and certification (Category 1, 2, and 3);
Minimum two years of elementary teaching experience; and
Previous experience of teaching the IB PYP is preferred, although outstanding candidates without prior IB experience will be considered.
Contract Type: Full-time, two years
Start date: August 2026
