Responsibilities:

• Drafting and prosecuting patent applications related to AI-enlabled technologies worldwide in the following disciplines:
  • 'smart' image processing, for feature recognition, image synthesis, image enhancement, etc.
  • speech recognition and natural language processing
  • neural network architectures for enhanced deep learning
  • robotics
  • machine learning algorithms in BioTech and MedTech products
• Drafting legal opinions related to patentability, patent infringement, non-infringement, patent validity, and safe harbor for AI-enabled technologies
• Drafting and negotiating a wide variety of agreements with respect to AI Software as a Service (SaaS) transactions
• In- and out-licensing AI technology and IP
• Conducting due diligence in licensing, merger, acquisition, IPO, distribution, and supply agreements

Qualifications:

Applicants should:

• have a recognised degree in a relevant area of electronic engineering, software, life science, biomedical science, mechanical engineering, or a discipline with relevant subjects;
• have at least five years of solid professional and relevant experience as a patent attorney (any jurisdiction);
• be highly motivated, result-oriented, and able to work under pressure;
• have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua); and
• possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
