Responsibilities

Clinical Operations & Patient Care

• Assist veterinary surgeons during consultations, surgeries, and in/outpatient care.

• Oversee clinic inventory and maintain effective stock control alongside the Hospital Manager.

• Review clinic invoices for allocated branches.

• Provide pet owners with educational resources on post-procedure care and general animal wellness.

Team Leadership & People Management

• Manage daily duty allocations, nurse responsibility areas, and shift rosters.

• Lead recruitment interviews, probation evaluations, performance appraisals, and return-to-work discussions.

• Foster clear, proactive communication across all clinic departments and group sites.

Training & Clinical Coaching

• Act as Clinical Coach and mentor for Student Veterinary Nurses, Veterinary Assistants, and new nursing staff.

• Design, prepare, and deliver internal training courses (including Stage 2 nurse training plans).

• Standardize service procedures and clinical protocols for Veterinary Assistants across the group.

• Manage new staff inductions, onboarding handbooks, and ongoing skills evaluations.

Administration & Practice Compliance

• Serve as the primary contact for the Hospital Manager regarding clinic operations and administrative tasks.

• Coordinate renewals for radiation licenses, clinic vehicles, and practice/employees' compensation insurance.

• Manage facilities and equipment maintenance, work injury reports, and clinic insurance claims.

• Participate in clinic business planning, marketing promotions, and assigned ad-hoc projects.
