Reporter

Responsibilities:

Gather news stories through research, interviews, and attending events

Write accurate, engaging, and timely news articles

Adhere to journalistic standards and ethics

Collaborate with editors, photographers, and other team members

Meet deadlines and work efficiently under pressure

Stay updated on current events and industry trends

Utilize various mediums such as print, online, or broadcast for news delivery

Conduct fact-checking and verify sources for accuracy

Develop and pitch story ideas to the editorial team

Maintain relationships with sources and the community

Uphold the organization's reputation for quality journalism


Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communication, or related field

Proven experience in reporting or journalism

Strong writing and communication skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Familiarity with AP style and other journalistic guidelines

Proficiency in digital tools and social media platforms

Attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

Passion for storytelling and keeping the public informed
