Position / Job Title: Homing Assistant

Job Purpose*

Welfare Welfare - Adoption The position will be responsible for providing care for animals and placement of animals available for adoption in suitable homes.

Roles & Responsibilities*

• Maintaining daily operations of adoption services, including animal handling and care, keeping of records, handling and processing all the adoption applications, performing client interviews, providing pre- and post-adoption support, and assisting with volunteer programmes.
• Being familiar with all the animals in the department and be able to effectively and promptly answer questions from the general public about their temperaments, medical conditions and etc.
• Working closely with other animal care teams and departments to ensure that all animals receive the best care at the SPCA.
• Guiding volunteers to ensure they comply with standard operating procedures.
• Assisting data collection and report production.
• Be aware of public relations issues involving the Welfare Department and liaise with AFCD, private vets and any other relevant bodies maintaining a good working relationship.
• Assist and facilitate SPCA programs from other departments related to adoption service.

Qualification*

• Completed HKCEE/ DSE or relevant qualifications.

Requirements*

• Good command of written and spoken English and Cantonese, spoken Putonghua will be advantage.
• Able to work on shift including Saturdays, Sundays, and Public Holiday.
• A team player, self-motivated with good interpersonal skill.
• Excellent customer service skill and telephone manner.
• An animal lover and confident in handling different types of animals including exotics.
• Genuine interest in the welfare of all animals
