Reward & Benefits Specialist

We are now recruiting for a Reward & Benefits Specialist to be based in Hong Kong. The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities across payroll, benefits and global mobility.

 

About the role

This role reports to the Reward and Benefits Manager, based in Hong Kong, and will play a vital part in delivering our reward and benefits strategy across the Sourcing functions globally. You will support the reward cycle, manage payroll operations and oversee expatriate arrangements to ensure compliance, accuracy and an excellent colleague experience. In doing so, you will gain exposure to international reward and benefits practices, develop experience in managing expatriate programmes and global payroll systems, and collaborate with colleagues across multiple sourcing hubs.

About the team

The Reward and Benefits Team sits within both Sourcing’s broader Enabling Function and Tesco’s Group International Reward team. We are responsible for designing and implementing competitive reward and benefits programs that attract, retain and motivate colleagues across all sourcing hubs. We work closely with local People teams, Finance and external partners to ensure smooth operations and compliance.

You will be responsible for

Reward & Benefits

  • Supporting the delivery of the Reward cycle including pay review, bonuses and salary benchmarking across multiple sourcing hubs to ensure internal equality and market competitiveness

  • Conducting external research and market data to support decision making on Sourcing's benefit offer

  • Providing ad hoc support to maintain reward and expatriate data, working with relevant teams to ensure data integrity

Payroll & Systems

  • Overseeing the Sourcing people and payroll system, working with local People Teams to ensure a successful ongoing service

  • Coordinating payroll operations across all hubs and systems to ensure timely and accurate delivery

  • Handling MPF and taxation filing for Hong Kong colleagues through accurate data collection and timely submissions

  • Supporting the Reward Manager and Finance team with payroll budgeting

  • Working closely with People and Finance teams across different locations to collate information for management reports, budgeting, forecasting and HR analytics

Global Mobility

  • Managing relocation, onboarding, tax and housing arrangements for all inbound and outbound expatriates

  • Managing relationships with external partners including immigration service agencies, tax agencies, housing agencies and relocation companies

People Reporting

  • Manages the HRIS database to ensure accuracy of data, capturing all changes each period

  • Liaises with functions to resolve discrepancies in headcount numbers, validating data against payroll and other people systems

  • Oversees retention and cleansing of People data including the Sourcing master colleague

Recognition

  • Administering the Long Service Award Programme

Health, Wellbeing & Provider Relationships

  • Managing relationships with local providers such as Employee Assistance Programme

You will need

Required Experience

  • Experience in payroll management and / or supporting reward & benefits programmes

  • Well versed in the Hong Kong Employment Ordinance and related regulations

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage complex people-related projects

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Candidates will less experience are welcomed

 

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working in a global or regional role within an international organisation

  • Experience in expatriates’ mobility management
