Associate Digital Marketing Director

We have an opportunity for an Associate Digital Marketing Director to join us!

The individual will lead our full-funnel paid media strategy, client performance, and team delivery across a portfolio of key regional and global client accounts, with a strong emphasis on lead generation and measurable business outcomes.

The role is primarily focused on paid media, while working closely with the Data, Organic Search, and AI teams, as well as agency leadership, to deliver connected and measurable client outcomes.

The successful candidate will combine strong paid media expertise with client leadership, team development, performance governance, and the ability to translate complex data into clear strategic recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Paid Media Strategy and Portfolio Leadership

  • Lead full-funnel paid media strategy across assigned regional and global accounts.
  • Translate business objectives into channel plans, audience strategies, KPI frameworks, budget allocations, and optimization priorities.
  • Maintain senior oversight of campaign performance and intervene where strategic or technical direction is required.

2. Client Leadership and Strategic Consulting

  • Act as the senior paid media partner for assigned clients, leading strategic planning, performance reviews, QBRs, and other important client conversations.
  • Translate complex performance data into clear business implications, prioritized recommendations, and actionable next steps.
  • Set a high standard for proactive and commercially grounded client communication, while managing expectations, priorities, timelines, and escalations.

3. Performance Governance and Optimization

  • Ensure strong standards across campaign setup, optimization, testing, budget pacing, reporting, and quality assurance.
  • Guide teams to prioritize recommendations based on business impact, urgency, scale, and learning value.
  • Ensure performance decisions balance short-term efficiency with sustainable growth.

4. Team Leadership and Capability Building

  • Manage, coach, and develop the paid media team, setting clear expectations, responsibilities, and development priorities.
  • Build team capability across paid media strategy, data interpretation, platform expertise, client leadership, and AI-enabled workflows.
  • Coach the team to communicate performance clearly, develop strong recommendations, and manage difficult client conversations effectively.

5. Measurement, Data, and Business Outcomes

  • Partner with Data to strengthen measurement frameworks, attribution, reporting, forecasting, conversion tracking, and the use of CRM and offline conversion data.
  • Ensure reporting clearly distinguishes between optimization metrics, diagnostic indicators, and primary business outcomes.
  • Translate media performance insights into recommendations for messaging, landing-page journeys, audience strategy, and conversion improvement.

6. Commercial Growth

  • Identify opportunities to expand or deepen client engagement.
  • Support the development of scopes, proposals, pitches, and resource plans.
  • Ensure growth recommendations are commercially realistic and supported by an appropriate delivery model.

7. Cross-Functional Collaboration and Innovation

  • Collaborate with Organic Search on keyword intelligence, search demand, SERP opportunities, content gaps, and landing page insights.
  • Work with the AI team to support the adoption of AI, automation, and improved tools across planning, optimization, reporting, insight generation, and quality assurance.
  • Support relationships with advertising platforms and technology partners, while contributing to paid media frameworks, case studies, training, and agency thought leadership.

Essential Experience and Skills

  • Approximately 7–10 years of agency experience in paid media or performance marketing.
  • Experience managing people and leading complex, multi-channel or multi-market client accounts.
  • Strong practical knowledge of platforms such as Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, and programmatic media.
  • Strong client leadership, strategic communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and communicate paid media performance against downstream business outcomes, including leads, pipeline, revenue, CAC, and ROAS.
  • Experience partnering with Data and Organic Search teams to develop joined-up client recommendations.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting pitches, commercial proposals, scope development, and account growth.
  • Familiarity with Power BI or comparable business intelligence tools, and the use of CRM or offline conversion data to support paid media measurement and decision-making.
  • Practical experience applying AI and automation within paid media workflows.
