The Hong Kong Award for Young People
Officer – Youth Development

The Hong Kong Award for Young People (AYP), formerly known as The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award was established in 1961 as a local registered non-profit organization. AYP is committed to providing a non-formal education platform for young people to explore their full potential and make positive changes. Through training camp service, we provide the youth development programmes by providing outdoor training and experiential learning for young people to challenge themselves, discover their hidden abilities and gain a special sense of satisfaction and achievement. We are now looking for a passionate candidate to fill up the post of Officer – Youth Development.

Duties:

  • Lead and coach adventure training or water sports activities

  • Plan and organize camp services and programmes

  • Maintain and monitor project schedules and plans with internal and external parties

  • Monitor various projects to achieve KPIs

  • Promote and raise awareness of the Award

  • Prepare reports and provide administration support

  • Logistics arrangement for programmes and events

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements:

  • Possess a recognized university degree or above in any disciplines.

  • Level 2 or Grade E or above in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent. 

  • At least 1 year relevant experience in leading programmes.

  • Experience in leading and organizing youth and children training activities will be an advantage.

  • Preference will be given to candidates with relevant skills and knowledge on Water Sports, Rope Course, First Aid or Recreation Management.

  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese. 

  • Self-motivated, strong organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Able to work independently and as a team.

  • Eager to work with young people in a non-profit setting. 

  • 44 hours per week.

  • Shift and overnight duty required, candidates may be required to work on Saturdays, Sundays or Public Holidays.
