Duties
The appointee will work in the User Support Services Section and will be required to:
(a) provide consultation and assistance to the Campus Space Committee on AV/IT facilities planning and budgeting related to Central Meeting Rooms and communal space;
(b) conduct technical design and proposal on AV/IT facilities investment for Central Meeting Rooms and campus communal space;
(c) perform technical evaluation on AV/IT hardware and software products proposed by potential suppliers;
(d) act as project manager and supervise AV/IT support team as well as contractors to implement new and upgrade existing AV/IT facilities, including preparation of technical specifications and participation in procurement processes, tender document preparation, installation, and testing etc.;
(e) prepare and implement training program for first-line support at units to equip them with basic skills in using AV/IT facilities;
(f) manage and maintain the inventory as well as distribution of AV/IT equipment, and set up effective operation procedures to meet user demand efficiently;
(g) solicit feedback from users and formulate improvement actions to improve user experience of AV/IT facilities, and prepare regular reports on operational status, project progress, and user satisfaction;
(h) undertake after-office-hour standby/emergency duties as and when required; and
(i) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Office or his delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a recognised degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field;
(b) have at least seven years of relevant project management and hands-on experience in audio/visual and IT facilities, technical support and operation management in sizable organisations, preferably with prior exposure in the tertiary education sector;
(c) have good knowledge of and solid experience in AV/IT facilities planning, implementation, management, and support;
(d) be familiar with audio/visual equipment signaling standards and control interfaces for operation or management integration;
(e) have knowledge of Extron/Crestron/Q-SYS control programming, Networking and AVoIP design and implementation;
(f) demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills; and
(g) be proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
