Specialist / Assistant Specialist (Technology Enablement) (Ref. 21061715-IE)


The appointee will work in the Technology Enablement Team.  He/She will participate in various business process automation projects of the University and be required to:

(a)  undertake the development of mobile and enterprise web applications including programming, testing, implementation and other related supporting services;

(b)  prepare design documentations, functional specifications and user guides of the applications developed;

(c)  provide end-user trainings and technical supports on the use of applications developed;

(d)  support daily operations and projects implementation; and

(e)  perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of the Office or his delegates.


Applicants should have:

(a)  a recognised degree in Computing Science, Information Technology or a related discipline;

(b)  solid knowledge of HTTP;

(c)  experience in server-side web applications development using C#, ASP.NET MVC and Entity Framework on .NET Framework/.NET Core;

(d)  experience in client-side web applications development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery and Bootstrap;

(e)  experience in developing and utilizing RESTful web services;

(f )  experience in SQL and relational databases like MS SQL, Oracle or MySQL;

(g)  experience in business process automation projects;

(h)  good interpersonal skills and systematic problem-solving ability; and

(i)  the ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English and Chinese.

Preference will be given to those with experience in Git, Angular, React, Vue.js, mobile application development on various platforms such as iOS and Android or other cross-platform development frameworks such as React Native, Flutter or Xamarin.

Candidates with lower qualification  or less experience  will be considered  for the post of Assistant Specialist.  Fresh graduates will also be considered.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.  Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
