The Department of Information Systems, Business Statistics & Operations Management is seeking high-caliber candidates to fill the position of Teaching Associate / Instructional Assistant. The appointee will provide teaching support for both undergraduate and graduate courses, including the following responsibilities:
- Assisting in tutorials or laboratory teaching
- Assisting course instructors to design and develop teaching materials
- Grading assignments and coordinating students’ submission of assignments
- Managing students’ attendance and providing logistical support for activities that are required for the courses.
- Assisting with other course preparation and delivery as assigned by the Department.
Qualifications
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree or above in operations management, logistics and supply chain, industrial engineering or a related discipline. Experience in using Python or knowledge of statistics will be an advantage. They should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills; a good command of both written and spoken English. Working outside normal office hours may be required.
Applicants with more years of relevant experience or a master’ degree may be considered for appointment as Teaching Associate. (Duration: 1 year, renewable)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.
