Duties:

The appointee will be responsible for incubating and developing novel electrochemical materials. His/her core duties include:

• Independently conduct thermal and electrochemical parameter measurements and simulations for battery optimization;
• Utilize finite element multi-physics simulation software to create electrochemical-thermal coupling models to simulate the electrochemical and thermal performance of lithium-ion battery;
• Improve thermal uniformity in lithium-ion batteries based on simulation insights;
• Compile detailed analysis reports and deliver actionable optimization recommendations and strategic planning for battery design; and
• Fulfill any additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

• PhD or Master's degree in Material Science, Physics, Chemistry, Electrochemistry, or a related discipline. Fresh graduates will also be considered;
• Solid experience in battery simulation, especially with COMSOL software. Experience in 3D thermal modeling of Li-ion batteries is advantageous;
• Solid grasp of electrochemistry and thermal behaviors of lithium-ion batteries, with the ability to effectively model and simulate the electrochemical and thermal process of charging and discharging lithium-ion batteries;
• Familiarity with the Newman electrochemical model is essential. Knowledge of Design of Experiments (DoE) is a plus;
• A proactive problem-solver with a can-do attitude;
• Strong accountability and responsibility for his/her work;
• Independent work style combined with strong teamwork capabilities; and
• Good command of English and Chinese, articulate report writing/presentation skills as well as abilities in literature / patent search.
