Thomas Chow Architects Ltd has been commissioned by the Urban Renewal Authority to undertake a conservation project located in Sheung Wan.  Applicants are invited for the position of Resident Building Services Inspector with the following minimum qualifications: -

Resident Building Services Inspector (RBSI) 

• žHigher Diploma in Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from Hong Kong Universities / Hong Kong Technical College / Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, or equivalent.

• žMinimum 10 years’ relevant site working experience in building or A&A projects

• žLanguage proficiency of Level 2* or above in English Language and Chinese Language in Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) /Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE), or equivalent.

• ž Experience in heritage conservation works is highly preferrable

 *Note: Grade E in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in previous HKCEE are recognized administratively as equivalent to Level 2 in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

•  Conduct routine site inspections for building services (Electrical, plumbing, drainage, HVAC, Fire Services & ELV) to monitor progress, workmanship, and safety standards.

• ž Ensure all installations comply with the Buildings Ordinance, fire safety regulations, statutory requirements and contract specification.

• ž Verify materials and equipment used on-site match specifications and quality requirements.

• žWitness the testing and commissioning of building services system with appropriate requirements.

• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and end-users to resolve site issues, manage renovations, and address maintenance requests.

  
  

Contract period will be 18 months with possible extension subject to the progress and condition of the works.
