POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a highly specialized Global Diamond Supply Chain Strategist to lead our international procurement and vendor expansion. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for managing multi-million-dollar diamond inventories, driving global sourcing initiatives, and navigating the complexities of the international diamond market. Due to the specialized nature of this role and the requirement for native-level fluency in Indian dialects to manage key overseas vendor relationships, this position is classified under the GEP policy for specialized overseas talent acquisition.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Leadership & Category Growth:

• Develop and drive the long-term corporate strategy for the diamond category, identifying high-growth opportunities within the volatile global gemstone market.
• Lead the innovation and digital transformation of the Company’s diamond supply chain to ensure scalability and market dominance.
• Strategically manage the existing international vendor base while identifying and onboarding new global partnerships to support corporate expansion initiatives.

Team Development & Organizational Design:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of multiple direct reports, instilling a culture of high performance and data-driven decision-making.
• Define and restructure the organizational framework to support the exponential growth of the category, ensuring the team possesses the niche technical skills required for global diamond valuation.

Process Engineering & Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Strategize and collaborate with cross-functional leaders to identify operational bottlenecks and develop sustainable, concise programs to resolve complex supply chain challenges.
• Spearhead training initiatives to upskill internal teams and cross-functional partners on new proprietary systems and international procurement protocols.

Global Supply Chain & Vendor Execution:

• Direct the global procurement of diamonds for the marketplace, managing the end-to-end execution from international mines and cutting centers to the Company’s inventory.
• Support the merchandising team in achieving aggressive revenue, margin, and inventory targets through strategic pricing and stock optimization.
• Partner with overseas suppliers to analyze current and evolving business trends in the international diamond market, assessing geopolitical and economic impacts on the Company.
• Identify and secure new vendor partnerships to increase supply in key areas of strategic need.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS (NON-NEGOTIABLE):

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
• Industry Experience: 5+ years’ MANDATORY experience in merchandising, buying, or planning specifically for Diamonds, Gemstones, or High-Value Jewellery. Applicants without direct diamond procurement experience will not be considered.
• Technical Expertise: Exceptional Advanced Excel skills are required, with a proven ability to manipulate and analyze large, complex datasets to drive pricing strategies. Previous Retail Pricing experience is highly preferred.
• Strategic Acumen: Robust business acumen with the ability to see the "big picture" while solving for complex, strategic objectives and market disruptions.

CRITICAL LANGUAGE & REGIONAL EXPERTISE:

• Fluency in English, Hindi, and a native-level Indian Dialect (e.g., Gujarati or Marwari) is PREFERRED.

• Willingness to accept flexible working hours to align with international time zones (specifically India and global diamond exchanges)
