Management Specialist (Hong Kong)

Job Duties

This position supports North & South Asia District Freight Forwarding Operations Director in managing SCS operations in countries to achieve both financial and operational goals.

Freight Operating Process and Procedure Development

  • Assists in improving operations by ensuring operational processes are standardized and initiative execution are aligned across countries
  • Assists in gateway and operational support measurements to monitor and improve processes and business results
  • Assists in establishing and monitoring the Key Performance Indicators (including business results tracking, productivity, cost management) to ensure improvement of KPI’s.
  • Assists in pre-audit preparation and self-assessment to ensure countries work according to standard and comply way.
  • Make recommendations for changes to resolve supply chain or operational issue

Documentation and Reporting

  • Assists in the generation and distribution of performance reports to concerned parties to ensure performance awareness and improvement.
  • Produces statistical and analytical reports for management to determine lane activity and growth opportunities
  • Conducts data analysis to identify issues and action plans for continuous improvement

FM Cost monitoring

  • Evaluate IAF cost and sell rate input by country.  Routing and mark up details to drive pricing competitiveness initiatives and margin improvement activities

Market Intelligence

  • Gather and conduct research on market intelligence

Coordination with Country Operations

  • Working closely with countries on identifying root causes of recurring issues and develop solutions to improve freight forwarding operations
  • Prepare weekly and monthly report and forecasts for district management and operations

Proficiency
Freight Forwarding Operations Knowledge

  • Knowledgeable on freight forwarding operations processes, procedures, and technology to ensure efficient movement of shipments through intermodal transportation (e.g., air, ocean, rail and ground).
  • Proficient in Excel or other analytical tools or software
  • Proactive and eager to ask questions, always look for continuous improvements
  • Presentable with good communication skills

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or Intl Equivalent - Required
