Job duties:

• Undertake work assignments and perform test examinations in the routine operation of the laboratory in area of Chemical Pathology, Haematology, Microbiology and Serology.
• Follow the Standard Operating Procedures and instructions from the MLT part I to carry out the test examination.
• Monitor the reagent usage and update the inventory system.
• Understand and carry out quality control of laboratory tests based on the Standard Operating Procedures.
• Report test examination results to the doctors or clinics promptly.
• Report to the Laboratory Director or Supervisors on unusual test findings or equipment abnormalities.
• Run the laboratory roster in the daily routine when necessary.
• Undertake necessary training from supervisors and acquire necessary competence or performance standards.
• Provide feedback on work difficulties or deficiencies to the supervisors when necessary.
• Protect patient information and confidentiality.

Qualification requirement

• Holder of a bachelor’s degree or higher qualifications in Biomedical Sciences, Medical Laboratory Technology, or equivalent.
• Registered as a Medical Laboratory Technologist in Part II in the Register of the Medical Laboratory Technologist Board, Hong Kong.
• Possesses a valid Practicing Certificate issued by the Medical Laboratory Technologist Board, Hong Kong.
